Annual Walk-a-thon

This is a yearly fundraiser to raise money for technology up grades.  Students preschool to eighth grade, teachers, and parents walked for one hour outside in the beautiful weather.  Items purchased so far: one to one chrome books for middle school students, charging cart, thirty chrome books and charging cart for elementary students, iPads and charging station for kindergarten and first graders.

Bunny Run

As part of our Project Healthy Schools, we run/walk two miles on the Lakeland Trail in Pinckney Hamburg.  Students from stroller age to great grandmother participate.

National Geography Bee

Students in grade sixth through eighth grade take a geography test.  The top ten students will then compete against each other in front of their peers for the rights to move on to the state level.   The top  winner will then take a written test at a later date to determine if they will compete at the National level.

Living Bible History Museum

Our students are a living, breathing Bible History Museum!   Together we bring the Bible to life. Students embody historical Bible figures by transforming into their favorite Bible character and enacting their role in Jesus’ ancient world.

Catholic Social Justice Projects

Students from each grade work together in small groups to learn about the seven themes of Catholic Social Justice: Life and Dignity of the Human Person, Call to family, Community, and Participation, Rights and Responsibilities, Option for the Poor and Vulnerable, The Dignity of Work and the Rights to Workers, Solidarity, and Care for God Creation.

National Spelling Bee Sponsored by St. Mary Parish Knights of Columbus

Students in grades fourth through eighth grade have their own spelling bee within their classroom.  The final two students will then compete in a live competition in front of their peers.  They are grouped in grades four through six and seven to eight.

Rosary Makers

For the past 18 years students in fourth grade learn to make rosaries.  The first one they make for themselves, but the rest are donated to different missions or our military troops.  Students enjoy this activity and help each other to learn how to make the special knots and work together to do quality checks.

Special Snow Days

Sometimes when God gives you 50 degree days in January, you just have to break out the sleds at lunch recess!
